Traded in my 2014 Honda Civic for a 2020 Tesla Model 3 at Westwood Honda. The trade-in value was fair —about 30% below market, which is expected from a dealership.

Shout out to Michael Tran who went beyond and above with me through the whole process. He was super professional and chill during the test drive. After the sale, I noticed a few scratches I hadn’t seen (lighting wasn’t great during the test drive), but Michael arranged to have them fixed *professionally* (not a touch up), which I really appreciated. The courtesy car they gave me while it was getting touched up was also nice.

Well, that said since Tesla isn’t their specialty (they're a Honda dealership), there were a few bumps. The car was stuck in valet mode for almost a week because no one knew the passcode. That limited a bunch of features like acceleration, GPS, radio, and even opening the trunk. I also had to buy my own charging cable, and only two of the four wheel covers were included—maybe the others were damaged before? Also learned after the fact that some Tesla features like Autopark and Full Self-Driving need a separate $11K upgrade. That didn't matter to me too much, since I am using it for the EV aspect.

That said, Michael went above and beyond—even answering my questions about charging and cables during his own time after work. That level of service really stood out.

Overall, it was a positive experience. If you're buying something outside of Honda, just be prepared to do some extra research—but the team, especially Michael, will do what they can to help.
